Mesotherapy

MESOTHERAPY

Mesotherapy is a medical technique devised in the 1950s by a Frenchman called Dr Michel Pistor. It was first used to treat such conditions as rheumatism, sports injuries, and for the improvement of blood circulation.

Mesotherapy involves the injection of a specially prepared mixture of vitamins, amino acids, and medications, placed just millimeters under the skin into the problematic area. Just a "drop" of solution is used at each injection site. The idea is that you can get these active substances to the site requiring treatment by directly injecting them there. This is instead of relying on a tablet or intravenous injection where higher concentrations of the drug are required in order to get adequate levels to the site requiring treatment. Mesotherapy is both more precise and requires less solution to be injected.

The actual preparation injected into the mesoderm (or surface layer of the skin) during mesotherapy depends upon the problem being treated. In general, the substances used can include: a local anaesthetic, and products that may reduce inflammation and treat veins, muscle relaxants, enzymes, vitamins, minerals, plant extracts, hormones, and hormone blockers; to name but a few.

IMPROVES SKIN TONE AND TEXTURE

Photoageing or sun damage results in fine lines and wrinkles, discolouration, textural changes and the level of hylauronic acid decreases. The skin feels dry because it is less able to hold onto water and because the epidermis is normally thinner the skin easily blisters, tears and grazes.

It is claimed that  injecting more hyaluronic acid into the dermal layers (just below the surface of the skin) helps to stimulate more collagen production, which, in turn, improves skin tone and helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Mesotherapy in the treatment of ageing skin aims to replace minerals, vitamins and amino acids that are found in lower levels in skin as we age. Another newer procedure is to boost levels of hyaluronic acid in the skin. This is another important component of the skin that helps to maintain firmness and texture. It effectively gives the skin a drink!

How does Mesotherapy work on Age Proofing and Skin Rejuvenating?

Vitamin and antioxidant injections under the skin rejuvenate the cells, making them metabolically active, thus stimulating collagen and elastin production. For age proofing, one can start in the mid twenties with Mesotherapy vitamin treatments to prevent wrinkles from forming. Treatments on the face, neck, arms, and hands are recommended 2-4 times a year.

Will the results last?
The results do last! However, againg is a dynamic process. We cannot stop aging. As your body continues to age, you will need to address the symptoms of aging as the manifest. Mesotherapy is used as a preventive measure against the ravages of aging, as well.

How many treatment is needed?
Micro-injections are given every couple of weeks for two to three treatment courses. Some individuals may require a longer initial course of treatment. When the desired effects are achieved, you will require a maintenance program every 2 - 3 months or so.

How long will take to recover from the treatment?
After the treatment you can return to normal activities although you may have some red marks over your face which should disappear within 24 hours.

REDUCE WEIGHT & CELLULITE

Mesotherapy can target specific areas or spots where your body stores excessive fat. The customized Mesotherapy formula injected in a specific area blocks the cells from storing fat and helps break the existing fat cells down. After Mesotherapy your body then naturally flushes out the broken-down fat. Spot reduction can be used for double chins, baggy eyelids, love handles and any other area where your body pockets fat.

CELLULITE
The term cellulite refers to skin dimpling caused by protrusions of subcutaneous fat into the dermis and other irregularities of the junction between the skin and subcutaneous fat. Other names used synonymously to cellulite include orange peel syndrome, cottage cheese skin, and so forth. According to various estimates, over 80% of adult women have some degree of cellulite.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a medical specialty that involves injecting microscopic quantities of natural extracts, homeopathic agents, pharmaceuticals and vitamins into the skin. It can be used to eliminate cellulite, promote weight loss, treat aging skin and redundant (sagging) skin, and rejuvenate the hands and neck.

What are the benefits of Mesotherapy over surgical techniques such as liposuction?
Liposuction does not treat cellulite. In fact, liposuction often causes existing cellulite to appear more prominent. Mesotherapy treats cellulite directly, promoting smoother skin and reducing fat in selected areas. Fat deposits are flushed from the body, and do not reappear in other areas, which often occurs after liposuction. Mesotherapy does not require hospitalization, general anesthesia or downtime.

Which cosmetic conditions can Mesotherapy treat?
Although Mesotherapy is used to treat a broad spectrum of injuries, illnesses and medical conditions, it is also employed to treat cosmetic conditions, including acne, cellulite, stretch marks, scars and wrinkles. It can also be used to reduce and contour fat.

How does Mesotherapy reduce or eliminate cellulite and fat?
Mesotherapy treats three factors involved in cellulite formation. Your doctor creates a specific formula to reduce the fat in your cellulite, improve impaired circulation and break down damaged connective tissue - thereby smoothing the skin's surface. Mesotherapy can treat cellulite located anywhere on the body.

How does Mesotherapy promote weight loss and spot reduction?
Our customized formula prevents cells from storing fat, and helps break down existing fat cells. Spot reduction targets double chins, love handles and any other areas displaying fat pockets.
